16 Best Highest Paying URL Shortener Sites to Earn Money Online 2019
Super Castlevania IV - Nintendo SNES - 1991
Judging by the sheer number of entries on my shortlist, the Castlevania series certainly has something going for it. For the NES I've played the first three titles and a spoof called Akumajo Special: Boku Dracula-Kun, plus Vampire Killer for the MSX. So far none of these has managed to float my boat. At first glance Super Castlevania IV seemed like nothing special - just more of the same with enhanced sound and graphics. Unless I'm certain I won't like a game, I give each one a fair crack of the whip (pun intended) and after a while Castlevania IV began to grow on me.
The manual says that every 100 years the powers of evil grow stronger and the forces of good become weak. During these times Dracula is revived, intent on turning humanity into creatures of darkness. Over the centuries the Belmont family has passed down the secrets of vampire slaying to their eldest son, successfully keeping Dracula in check.
Now an evil group has performed a ritual in a ruined abbey allowing Dracula to rise once more. Armed only with a mystical whip, it is up to Simon Belmont to face the Prince of Darkness....
The game is basically an action platformer in which you guide Simon through a generous eleven levels. Each level ends with a boss fight. The ultimate aim is to defeat Dracula himself.

Koranot - one of the many bosses |
In Super Castlevania IV, as with previous Castlevania games, the protagonists primary weapon is a whip. It can be used to attack enemies in eight directions. It can also be used to latch on to hoops to swing across gaps that are too large to jump.
Secondary weapons and whip upgrades can be collected by destroying candles. Only one secondary weapon may be carried at a time and include a watch (freezes enemies), an axe (powerful but difficult to accurately aim), fire bomb (which I found basically useless), a 'boomerang' (causes damage when thrown and when returning) and a dagger (easy to aim but doesn't cause much damage). These secondary weapons are powered by hearts which are by far the most numerous objects dropped by candles. A small heart allows one use of a weapon and a large heart gives five uses.
If Simon gets hit by an enemy his life bar decreases. The life bar can be replenished to a certain degree by picking up food that occasionally drops from the candles. If it expires he loses one of his three lives. He can be instantly killed by falling off the bottom of the screen or if the time limit runs out. Once all lives are lost you are presented with a password, allowing you to restart at the beginning of the same level without power ups or secondary weapons.
Super Castlevania IV certainly is a great game, although some may find it repetitive. There is a soundtrack playing throughout which, while not really memorable, is pretty good and matches the mood of the game. Likewise the sound effects do not really stand out but are more than adequate. The graphics, however, are excellent. The artwork is superb and there are several layers of parallax scrolling on some levels. Mode 7 is put to effective use at various points. My only gripe is a small one and that is the animation of the main character himself. If lowly 8-bit computers can manage it in Dun Darach, and Prince of Persia does it with many more frames of animation, why can't Konami make Simon Belmont walk realistically instead of looking like he is ice skating? It doesn't detract from the action at all but is a personal annoyance I have with animation in many video games.

Exciting Developments For NES ROMs
When it comes to the NES, everybody at one point or another has emulated the NES. NES emulation has been around for a long time and has improved so much that often the experience of playing a game on an emulator is indistinguishable from playing the game on real hardware (accounting for video improvements via emulation.) But NES emulation is continually evolving as we find more games to dump and understand better the hardware found inside previously-dumped games. In this blog post let me share some recent developments regarding NES ROMs.

Doctor Who On TV Isn'T Really About Combat, But...
![]() |
Daleks vs Sontarans, a clash yet to be seen on TV |
Before 2006, most Doctor Who fans of a certain type probably wondered who would come out on top in a clash between the show's two highest profile recurring villains, the Daleks and the Cybermen. Despite appearing in the classic series regularly over it's 26-year run, the Doctor's two most formidable opponents never met, and the show's approach to continuity was very compartmentalized: Dalek stories would often refer to previous Dalek stories, but there wasn't really any sense of a larger, coherent universe. The only classic TV story that featured both the Daleks and the Cybermen was 20th anniversary special The Five Doctors, but they're never seen on screen together.
All that changed in 2006 with the new series episode Army of Ghosts, in which the Daleks and the Cybermen finally met. Doctor Who: Exterminate! from Warlord Games allows players to recreate that clash on the tabletop with "epic scale" 38mm miniatures.
A skirmish game may seem like an odd choice for the Doctor Who license, since the Doctor tends to avoid violence and try to think his way out of problems, which is no doubt why the game emphasizes clashes between the more militant villains of the series such as the Daleks, the Cybermen, and the Sontarans. However, the game's scenarios do each include a sidebar with suggestions for how to involve the Doctor and his companions in the game, giving them objective-based goals to achieve while trying to avoid getting shot at by Daleks.
The game itself uses a simple symbol-based dice mechanic to determine if attacks are successful, with each player also given a hand of "battle cards" that can be used to supplement the dice results. Common miniatures game elements such as range, obstacles and cover are addressed by adjusting the number of dice rolled for attack or defense. Rather than requiring players to keep track of damage to individual miniatures, the game uses a system of different statuses: figures are either fully operational, shocked (temporarily incapacitated) or exterminated on a particularly good roll of the damage dice. It makes losing figures in battle a bit unpredictable, which I think is okay for a game like this where the emphasis is on narrative rather than cold tactics.
One game mechanic I have mixed feelings about is the concept of being "under fire." If a figure is successfully fired upon (even if it doesn't take any damage), that figure is given an "under fire" token, which means it can't return fire on its turn, and has to roll to remove the token at the end of the turn. This can sometimes result in multiple turns where a player can't really do much with their figures, which can be a little frustrating. It also gives characters whose special abilities allow them to ignore "under fire" tokens (such as the Daleks) a huge advantage.
To add additional flavor, the game includes an "Adventure Card" deck with various events and equipment from the show that players can use. We've found that giving the Cyberleader a samurai sword is a particularly winning combination.
Most miniatures game rules systems are really just an excuse to sell the figures, and that's where this game really shines. Right out of the box you get 12 Daleks and 12 Cybermen, requiring some assembly but cast in gold and silver so you can get to playing without taking the time to paint them (although you will probably want to eventually).

A selection of additional figures: an Ice Warrior, a Judoon, a Silent, and a Zygon |
The supplemental figures cover a wide range of both the classic and the new TV series, and they are of exceptional quality. The slightly larger scale allows for a lot more detail, and an apparently rigorous approvals process results in miniatures that are very true to their TV counterparts, and a joy to paint.
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Great miniatures with a reasonably good rules set to go with them.

The FIRST ROUND Approaches
The eight runner, single elimination Bloodborne "hitless" tournament (all bosses, main game) officially starts on Friday (Jan. 25). The minimum prize pool will be $250---$150 to first place, $100 to second.
The qualifiers were intense.
Commentators FaraazKhan and McRaptor both picked Posiitiive as a shoe in for the #5 seed (top placement coming through the qualifiers). In the end, the commentator curse prevailed, and Posiitiive was eliminated by hitting the maximum hits. SlipperySuzie, a previous contender in other tournaments, also was eliminated by scoring the maximum 10 hits. Lethal3585, resident strat master in Bloodborne, also watched his run slip away by narrowly avoiding a max hit run, instead scoring 9.
DonnyRekt and and Mogenkai were neck and neck most of the run, but eventually Donny pulled ahead and finished with a respectable 4 hit run, followed by Mogenkai and Eden_Issue at 5 and 6 hits, respectively.
The star of the qualifiers: GoesonGhost
But the star of the qualifiers was GoesonGhost, who earned herself the top qualifying placement in her first tournament. She breezed her way through most of the arcane run, making few mistakes along the way. Logarius caused a late run scare, but she recovered and scored a 3 hit run---which by the way, was the best score of the previous all boss tournament. Now she gets a chance to prove herself against the Edgelord himself---Squillakilla, three-time tournament champion, multiple world first record holder.

The New And Probably Coolest Tattoo Trend Ever
Taking the Tattoo World By Storm:
Believe it or not, tattoos and the gaming community go hand in hand. Years ago many thought of gamers as the "nerds" of the century. Now with the growth of the gaming community and the culture of some of today's games, gaming is one of the most trendy and up to speed communities in our culture. Its a world wide community. One of those trends is the growing popularity of tattoos. Once

Jbox Haul (Sponsored) Review!
Hey everyone!
Have you heard about JBox.com? Because if you haven't, I highly suggest you visit JBox now. Especially if you love Japan, or just cute things in general! JBox was super nice and sent me quite a few things for review, so I can show you all how great they really are. (And trust me, they're fantastic. Just wait until you see my items!)
So, what all did I get?
I have, unfortunately, been unable to use the onigiri maker yet. I just bought a rice cooker, and I still need to go out and get rice for it before I can try it out. I wanted to wait, but I didn't want to postpone this interview any longer than what I have. So I'll be showing you my onigiri-making adventures in another blog post coming shortly.
I have, however, used the sandwich maker. And it worked very well, leaving me with a cute sandwich with no crust!
It even meows. Right before the lid opens, and as it closes. This is the best coin bank I have ever seen. The only downside to it is that sometimes it's little paw can't quite grip dimes. I think they're too small for them to work 100% of the time. But they will still work if you position them just right.
Even the 'cardboard' box is pretty cute. It looks really cute on my nightstand, and I just love putting in coins and hearing the cute little meow, and seeing the paw reach out. I have a feeling this will help me save quite a bit of money, with how much I love putting money into it.
So yeah, this was the item I was most looking forward to getting, and now that I have it, it's definitely my favorite item! Everything about it is fantastic.
Get this cute Coin Bank here!
My Neighbor Totoro Bento Box Bag -- Type A:
I really needed a lunch box to take to work with me, since I'm now working, and so far, I have found that this one is absolutely perfect. It's the perfect size for my water bottle, a sandwich, chips, and a small snack. The inside is thermally lined, so it helps keep warm things warm and cold things cold. It's been a lot of use to me so far, and I absolutely love the cute 'My Neighbor Totoro' design. (I loved that movie as a child!).
Check out other Jbox Lunch bags here.
Gray Angel Wing Hoodie:
Anybody that knows me well, knows that I absolutely adore angel wings. So when I saw this hoodie, I knew that I had to have it. Unfortunately, with it being in the middle of summer, I can't exactly get much use out of it. But come fall, I'm going to really enjoy having this. It's really comfortable, and also really cute!
It's one-size and it fits a bit tight over my chest, but as long as I don't zip it up all the way, which is how I prefer my hoodies anyway, it's wonderful. It's still nice and cozy all zipped up, and not uncomfortable at all, just tighter than I prefer my hoodies to be at my chest.
Buy this beautiful sweater here.
Or check it out in black here.
So, overall:
Sock Glue: ?/5 (Blog Post will come as soon as possible with me trying this out. But the idea is fantastic!)
Sandwich Maker: 5/5 (Does exactly what it's suppose to do!)
Onigiri Maker: ?/5 (This will be it's own blog post soon! Look forward to it!)
Coin Bank: 1054221/5 (Words cannot express just how much I love this coin bank!)
My Neighbor Totoro Lunch Bag: 5/5 (Perfect for my lunch, and super cute!)
Angel Wing Hoodie: 5/5 (Comfortable and cute! Exactly what a hoodie should be.)
Overall product quality: 5/5!
---
Shipping: 5/5
Everything came really well packaged, and the delivery took less time than estimated. I actually received it quite a few days before I was suppose to. A really pleasant surprise!
---
Communication: 5/5
Communication was really great. Most of the time, I got a response to my questions at least within a day. The only exception was a three day gap, which was understandable since that gap landed on the weekend! JBox was so helpful and very nice, so their customer service was definitely A+!
---
So, over all, I would say JBox definitely deserves a well-earned 5/5 for wonderful products, fantastic communication, and excellent shipping. I highly recommend them to all of you.
(And be sure to look forward to a couple blog posts about Sock Glue and Onigiri, coming soon!)
Thanks JBox!
(This review was sponsored by JBox. All opinions are entirely my own!)
What is your favorite item from JBox?
Have you heard about JBox.com? Because if you haven't, I highly suggest you visit JBox now. Especially if you love Japan, or just cute things in general! JBox was super nice and sent me quite a few things for review, so I can show you all how great they really are. (And trust me, they're fantastic. Just wait until you see my items!)
So, what all did I get?
- Gray Angel Wing Hoodie
- My Neighbor Totoro Bento Box Bag
- Sock Glue
- Onigiri Maker
- Sandwich Maker
- Cat Coin Bank
So, in order of size, from smallest to largest (because I need some way to organize this review, right?), I'll review the items, and then I'll review the whole thing overall!
Socks Glue:
Sock glue! I keep mentioning to people that I got this, and everyone seems to get this confused look on their face and ask what it is. Which is understandable, since I'm fairly certain I had that exact same look on my face when I saw this on their website. But after hearing what it did, I had to have it.
Although I absolutely love thigh hi tights and socks, I hate that they never want to stay up. Within a few minutes, they're usually always down past my knees, refusing to stay where I want them to. And a garter belt just doesn't look quite right with certain outfits, so how do I fix this problem otherwise?
Apparently, the answer is really simple! Sock glue. This handy little thing keeps your socks staying up while you go about your day, all you have to do is apply it to your skin where the sock sits, and it stays on, simple.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to test it out yet, since it's the middle of summer, and since it's 85 degrees out, I'd rather stay away from thigh his. But as soon as a cool day hits, I'll be sure to try it out and tell you guys how it works!
When you order it from the website, you either get the cute little blue container I received, or a similar one in pink (man, am I sad I didn't get pink...). You can check it out here: Socks Glue.

2 Sizes Triangle Onigiri Maker - Large & Small:
I have, unfortunately, been unable to use the onigiri maker yet. I just bought a rice cooker, and I still need to go out and get rice for it before I can try it out. I wanted to wait, but I didn't want to postpone this interview any longer than what I have. So I'll be showing you my onigiri-making adventures in another blog post coming shortly.
I have, however, used the sandwich maker. And it worked very well, leaving me with a cute sandwich with no crust!
(And it was delicious, by the way.)
Itazura Cat Coin Bank -- Calico Cat:
This was definitely the thing I was most excited for with my order from them. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Just take a look:
Isn't it adorable?!Itazura Cat Coin Bank -- Calico Cat:
This was definitely the thing I was most excited for with my order from them. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. Just take a look:
